I was brought up Anglican in standard Church in Wales dead traditionalism. We sang the service. To the tunes from the Cathedral Service Book. But even these plainsong melodies helped to stick the Nicene creed, the gloria etc. in my young and resistant head...
We could sing more stuff like this. And thank God for the weighty, meaty, doctrinal hymns and songs what we have got.
