It seems that in many of the unhealthy theological trends impacting the church today, a 'big idea', more or less derived from Christianity, is commandeered for a variety of agendas -- but the hard work of careful exegesis of Scripture is not done. That means that Scripture itself is no longer the authoritative guide 'for faith and practice' -- which means, in practical terms, the Lord's own authority over his church is undermined (since he guides his church by his Spirit-illuminated Word).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
